In poker, each player is dealt 2 cards face down (hidden from the other players). The first phase of betting begins with the player to the left of the big blind. Then 3 cards are dealt face up in the center of the table, called the flop. Each player can now either call the bet (put in the same number of chips as the preceding player) or raise it.
